To answer that, let us see what the bible says.
God loves us greatly.
John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Sin separates us from Him.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death;..
But He offers us the gift of eternal life through Jesus.
Romans 6:23
.. the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
How do we receive His gift?
By hearing the good news.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
..Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
By believing it
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
By changing one’s mind –repenting
Acts 3:19 (KJV)
19 Repent.. and be converted, ..
Confessing Christ to be the Son of God.
Acts 8:37 (KJV)
..I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Then God through the bible let’s us know that baptism is necessary for salvation
1 Peter 3:21 (KJV)
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Finally, we must live our lives in faithful and loyal service to our Lord Jesus Christ as God has directed (Revelations 2:10). We must find a congregation that believes and practices as the New Testament directs… following the Word of God… speaking where the Bible speaks, living by His Word and His Word alone. Trusting in God to save us as He has promised those who would be faithful to Him.
